I deconstruct the form of a character to the very limit of recognisability, then reconstruct it using the strokes as they are. In doing so, the meaning and aura inherent in the character, and the world that lies beyond, emerge within the image liberated from its original form. Through calligraphy, I seek to blur the boundaries between text and the visual, pursuing an expression that speaks directly to the viewer’s senses.
